“I find words healing and empowering.”

Mother, Homemaker, Author, Freelance writer and a creative writing coach, that’s me, Monica Gupta. Writing began as a therapy, turned into a passion and eventually to the profession, that’s my journey to becoming a writer. Being an English literature graduate and an avid reader, in the year 2015 I took up a Creative Writing course to rekindle my passion that lay dormant while building a family with 2 kids. In the year 2017, I created my blog (www.breathingpen.com now authormonica.com) of musings, short stories, poetries and quotations, and today it is a proud page with 9000+ followers. My debut book, “Illuminating Darkness” published in the year 2019 is another feather in my cap as a literary figure. It was received well with applause from the fraternity and readers. My literary journey has been becoming more enriching as I am evolving as a Creative Writing coach, conducting workshops, taking sessions on benefits of writing, mentoring aspiring writers, reviewing books and moderating sessions. Besides my page, my literary content enjoys an attractive space on www.bonobology.com, Ahmedabad Book Club page, and I also uphold the designation of a Senior Content Writer at Ahmedabad Book Club, devoted to promoting Literature and Authors.

I am an egalitarian and follow the religion of Humanity. I see Nature as the supreme power- creator, conserver and destroyer. I follow the colours of black and white to structure life, but my expertise lie in seeing the shades of grey. I fall back on common sense and always strive to strike a balance between personal and professional life. I firmly believe that balance is the way to a wholesome life. I am driven by compassion, diligence and discipline. I am mostly complimented as a prompt person pursuing excellence.

I was born in a small town of Haryana, did High school from a boarding convent in Rajasthan, graduated from Gujarat University, married and settled in Ahmedabad. Having the privilege of growing up in different regions makes me a culturally rich person with command over four languages. That’s me and my literary journey until 2020.
